The Role: As a part of the IT & Cyber Security team, the Cyber Security Intern will be working closely with this team, as well as cross functional teams such as Coporate Services, Finance and Technology. The main projects for this position will center around reviewing current security policies and alignment with NIST, as well as participate in the Security Risk registration. This is a summer internship opportunity which will run from May to August. The role will work directly with a product manager and have the opportunity to be part of a corporate environment, be an active participant in a designated project, and be a member of a highly collaborate team. The Accountabilities: - Assist with security incident investigation, escalation and remediation - Participate in security testing, reporting and analysis from start to end - Participate in Cloud Security Posture Assessment - Support cybersecurity and vulnerability assessment program - Participate in reviewing current Security Policies and alignment with NIST - Participate in PCI and Canada Cybersecure certificate audit and compliance - Leverage knowledge in multiple security disciplines, such as Windows, databases, data loss prevention (DLP), endpoint controls, network security etc. - Provide support, and responses to external and internal audits - Participate in reviewing current Security Policies and alignment with NIST - Participate in the Security Risk register project The Requirements: - Current student in 2nd or 3rd year at a post-secondary institution - Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security or similar course is required - Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required - Excellent communication skills - Team player - Highly technical and comfortable with encrypting data, designing anti-hacker software, troubleshooting information systems, and backing up data - Strong time management and able to manage multiple projects and priorities - Self-sufficient individual with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams - Eager to learn and contribute This is a summer internship opportunity from May to August. You will work 5 days/week between Monday to Friday during regular business hours. The incumbent must be able to work at 150 York St part-time, with the opportunity for occasional work-from-home.
