LaSalle Network is hiring on behalf of a growing technology startup based in downtown Chicago, seeking a Human Resources Generalist, due to growth. The Human Resources Generalist will play a critical, hands-on role in supporting the employees and leaders across the full employee lifecycle. This position will have a strong focus on payroll administration, employee relations, and talent & culture initiatives, while also contributing to the development of scalable HR processes that support a growing technology organization. Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities: Own and administer bi-weekl payroll in partnership with Finance and external payroll providers Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and timely processing Manage employee data in HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality Maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation as the company scales Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions, concerns, and workplace issues Support managers with performance management, employee coaching, and conflict resolution Help ensure consistent, fair, and legally compliant employee practices Assist with investigations and documentation related to employee relations matters, as needed Support recruiting efforts, including interview coordination, candidate experience, and onboarding Partner with leadership to enhance employee engagement, culture, and retention initiatives Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that reflect company values and business goals Human Resources Generalist Requirements: • 3–6 years of experience in Human Resources, ideally in a startup or fast-growing technology environment • Hands-on experience with payroll administration and HR operations • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices • Experience supporting employee relations and partnering with managers • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems • Experience supporting culture or employee engagement programs from design to execution This position is based in downtown Chicago and can pay between $100-115,000 with a discretionary bonus and benefits (health, dental, vision).
