Lemieux et Cie is seeking a General Manager, Designer Trade to lead our New York flagship showroom. This role oversees both the retail store and the designer trade business, ensuring strong revenue performance, disciplined operations, and an elevated client experience across all channels. The General Manager is both a business leader and a design authority. You will manage the retail team, grow the trade channel, own the showroom P&L, and confidently present design concepts, layouts, and product direction to clients and designers alike. This is a hands-on leadership role within a design-driven brand. Key Responsibilities • Oversee daily operations of the NYC showroom • Manage and mentor Retail & Trade Design Specialists • Set and monitor individual and team sales goals • Create staff schedules aligned with traffic and payroll targets • Uphold visual merchandising and brand standards • Ensure exceptional client experience for walk-in and appointment-based customers Trade Business Ownership • Lead development and execution of the NYC trade strategy • Build and nurture relationships with interior designers, architects, and developers • Own trade revenue targets and gross margin performance • Monitor open quotes, close rates, and reorder frequency • Maintain pricing integrity and margin discipline Financial Management • Own showroom P&L including revenue, margin, payroll, and operating expenses • Track weekly KPIs, including sales per labor hour, conversion rate, AOV, and trade mix • Manage discounting and protect profitability • Partner with leadership on forecasting and annual planning Business Development & Programming • Represent Christiane Lemieux within the NYC design community • Host and execute trade and client events in the showroom • Drive design services conversion and multi-room projects • Collaborate with marketing on launch strategy and ongoing visibility Design Leadership • Lead client presentations and design consultations when appropriate • Review floor plans and develop layout guidance • Create and present curated product selections and room concepts • Use presentation tools to communicate cohesive design direction • Ensure aesthetic consistency aligned with the brand's philosophy Qualifications • 3 to 7 years of experience in luxury retail, interiors, or showroom leadership • Proven ability to manage teams and drive revenue growth • Strong relationships within the interior design trade community, including large design firms • Solid understanding of gross margin, pricing strategy, and P&L management • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills • Proficient in Adobe, CAD, Canva, or similar presentation tools with the ability to present layouts and curated design concepts • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Interior Design, or related field preferred • Ability to work flexible hours, including select event evenings Physical Requirements • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods • Ability to lift and move medium to large items using appropriate safety techniques This is a rare opportunity to lead a flagship showroom in one of the world's most dynamic design markets, blending commercial discipline with creative leadership within a brand rooted in timeless, layered interiors.
