Java Production Support lead Jersey City, NJ (Need local only) FTE only Key Responsibilities Technical & Application Support Leadership • Lead L2/L3 production support for Java/Spring Boot microservices-based applications • Own incident, problem, and change management for supported applications • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and drive permanent fixes • Ensure application availability, performance, resiliency, and security • Guide the team on microservices design, troubleshooting, and optimization • Support database operations and performance tuning on Oracle and PostgreSQL Scrum & Delivery Leadership • Lead a Scrum team operating in a support + continuous delivery model • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) • Manage sprint commitments for support, defect fixes, and minor enhancements • Balance BAU support with tech debt remediation and automation initiatives • Ensure adherence to Agile, ITIL, and SDLC best practices Onshore Offshore Coordination • Act as the bridge between onshore stakeholders and offshore teams • Plan and manage follow-the-sun support and on-call rotations • Ensure clear communication, handoffs, and documentation • Mentor and coach offshore engineers to improve technical and domain maturity DevOps & Operational Excellence • Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerts • Improve observability using logs, metrics, and tracing tools • Drive automation for deployments, testing, and operational tasks • Ensure compliance with SLA, SLO, and audit requirements Stakeholder Management • Communicate incident status, risks, and remediation plans to stakeholders • Partner with Product Owners and Architects on roadmap alignment • Provide leadership updates on support metrics and operational health Required Qualifications Technical Skills • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices • Experience supporting production systems using Oracle and PostgreSQL • Solid understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures • Experience with Linux/Unix, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle, etc.) Agile & Support Experience • 8+ years of overall IT experience with 3+ years in a Lead role • Proven experience leading Scrum teams in application support environments • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change) • Experience working in onshore offshore delivery models
