We are currently looking to add Advanced Security Trained Field Intrusion Tactical (AST Certificate Required!) - Event Security. Ambassadors to the BC Place team, Field Intrusion Event Security Specialists are responsible to enforce the stadium, leagues, and associations’ safety and security policies and protocols protecting players and officials on the field of play, preventing unauthorized access to the field and restricted areas by any person who does not have the correct accreditation and authorization. Scanning, recognizing, reporting, and responding to behaviours ensuring the safety of those on the field, the dispersal of spectators, and apprehension of intruders. Field Intrusion Event Security Specialists play a key role in delivering on our mission “providing world renowned service in a safe, inviting dynamic environment that attracts world class exhibitions, sport and entertainment events.”
The hourly rate for this position is $30.91.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
• Working on the field, part of the inner cordon ensuring the safety of referees, coaches and players through the prevention, apprehension and resolution of unauthorized field intrusions;
• Utilize proactive approaches to safety including scanning, recognizing, reporting, and responding to concerning behaviours;
• Use de-escalation and non-verbal skills to prevent and dissuade field intrusion;
• As a last resort utilize force including control holds to prevent or apprehend field intruders;
• Create positive impressions utilizing, positive verbal and non-verbal skills;
• Provide service excellence to clients, guests and BC Place team members;
• Be approachable by maintaining uniform standards;
• Be knowledgeable about BC Place, safety policies, guest services and event details;
• Practice proactive measures to manage crowds, prevent/diffuse the risk of confrontation, and monitor enforcement of responsible alcohol management;
• Conduct self with integrity, respect, and professionalism at all times;
• Partner with stadium police as appropriate;
• Respond to building emergencies, including guest- and facility-related emergencies, in a lead or supportive role;
• Assist with event evacuation should building evacuation be necessary;
• Investigate incidents as required, in such situations as injuries, damage to property, theft/loss and assault;
• Complete administrative duties as required including completing incident and eviction reports;
• Ensure scheduling and availability requirements are achieved;
• Follow BC Place policies and practices;
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
• Must have a valid BC Security Worker License with a valid Advanced Security Training (AST) certificate;
• Physically fit and mentally able to work under pressure while dealing with escalated incidents of aggressive behaviour or non-compliance;
• Advanced de-escalation and communication skills;
• Ability to maintain a friendly, professional and courteous demeanor;
• Experience using radio and related protocols;
• Ability to deal with difficult situations and large crowds;
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as well the ability to cooperate with others and teamwork;
• Experience in a similar role in the event or service industry and or working with the public an asset;
• Mentally and physically able to deal with conflict situations and other assigned tasks including exposure to seasonal heat and cold in an outdoor and indoor environment, extended periods of standing and at times extensive walking from one location to another on concrete and field surfaces;
• Computer literate with the ability to utilize BC Place employee service portal via internet or on-site kiosks;
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) with additional language(s) an asset;
• Ability to work evenings and weekends. Mon - Fri event shifts will start at 5:30pm;
• Must be able to work 80% of our anchor events (approx. 25 events per year).

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
1. Complete an online pre-recorded video interview and upload your AST Security License.
2. Attend our hiring event scheduled between January 13 - 25, 2026, if you are shortlisted. If you pass our video screening assessment, we will invite you to our hiring event. During the event, you will complete a group exercise with other applicants and participate in a one-on-one interview.
3. Provide us with 2 professional references. If you are a successful candidate, we will ask you for two professional references. Please ensure you notify your references that they will be contacted.
4. Join our amazing team! Orientation Training will be February 7 and 8, 2026.
