Position Summary: We are looking for a Director, Data Leadership, Advanced Analytics & Measurement who will be responsible for designing and scaling the company’s data, measurement, and advanced analytics capabilities to enable faster, smarter, and more confident decision-making across the enterprise.
This role ensures that data and analytics are future-proof, integrated, and decision-driven, connecting trends, demand planning, initiative forecasting, social intelligence, customer experience, and first-party data into a unified measurement and learning ecosystem.
Reporting to the VP of Strategy & Intelligence, the Director partners closely with IT, agencies, analytics vendors, and cross-functional leaders to ensure that data platforms, tools, and investments are strategically aligned, cost-efficient, non-overlapping, and seamlessly enabling. The role establishes analytics and measurement as a competitive advantage and creates an insight flywheel that continuously improves decisions and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data & Measurement Strategy
• Define and lead the enterprise-wide data and measurement vision across marketing, sales, innovation, and strategy.
• Ensure measurement frameworks are scalable, interoperable, and aligned to business decision needs.
• Establish standards for KPIs, metrics, taxonomies, and definitions to ensure consistency and trust across teams and regions.
• Align measurement design to strategic, commercial, and operational decisions—not reporting for reporting’s sake.
Advanced Analytics, ML & Statistical Leadership
• Lead the application of advanced analytics, statistics, and machine learning to business problems.
• Oversee development of predictive and prescriptive models, including:
• Demand planning and forecasting
• Initiative and innovation impact forecasting
• Trend detection and early signal identification
• Marketing and media effectiveness modeling
Ensure analytical rigor, transparency, reproducibility, and governance across all models.
Partner with Strategy and Insights leaders to translate model outputs into actionable guidance.
Integrated Data Architecture & Ecosystem
• Architect and govern the integration of internal and external data sources, including:
• Syndicated and POS data
• Digital, media, and social intelligence
• Customer experience and first-party data
• Innovation and initiative tracking data
• Partner closely with IT, data vendors to design scalable pipelines, storage, access layers, and analytics environments.
• Ensure data flows are seamless, timely, and designed to support analytics, insight, and decision-making.
First-Party Data & Customer Intelligence Strategy
• Lead the strategy for first-party data capture, integration, and activation across touchpoints.
• Define workflows connecting CRM, customer experience, and behavioral data to analytics and insight systems.
• Ensure privacy, security, and governance while maximizing analytical and strategic value.
• Enable more personalized, responsive, and insight-driven engagement strategies.
Tools, Platforms & Vendor Optimization
• Own the strategic roadmap for analytics, intelligence, and data platforms across the organization.
• Evaluate, rationalize, and optimize tools and vendor partnerships to avoid redundancy and unnecessary cost.
• Partner with agencies and technology vendors to ensure solutions are interoperable and future-ready.
• Ensure internal and external tools operate as an integrated ecosystem—not disconnected silos.
Decision Enablement & Insight Flywheel
• Design systems that enable continuous learning loops: measure → learn → act → improve.
• Ensure insights are operationalized into planning, execution, and performance management processes.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Innovation, and Finance to embed analytics into day-to-day and strategic decisions.
• Accelerate feedback cycles and enable confident course correction.
Leadership, Governance & Capability Building
• Lead and develop advanced analytics, data science, and measurement talent (directly or via matrix).
• Establish governance models for data quality, analytics standards, and tool usage.
• Build analytical literacy across the organization.
• Serve as a senior thought leader on quant research, data, analytics, and measurement.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related quantitative field (Master’s or PhD strongly preferred)
• 12–15+ years of experience in advanced analytics, data science, data engineering, or measurement leadership
• Proven experience designing and scaling enterprise data and analytics architectures
• Deep expertise in statistics, machine learning, and predictive modeling
• Experience working with large, complex datasets across marketing, sales, and customer domains
• Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytics into business-relevant insights
• Experience partnering closely with IT, agencies, and external vendors
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in CPG, retail, or consumer-centric industries
• Familiarity with syndicated data, digital and social intelligence ecosystems
• Experience leading analytics or data modernization transformations
• Strong executive communication and influence skills
• Experience managing teams of researchers, data scientists, engineers, or analytics leaders
