The school invites applications for the following position: Position Title: Digital Video Specialist Position Group: Staff Reports To: Communications Manager Status: Full-time position Start Date: March 2026 Job Purpose Lower Canada College (LCC) is seeking a forward-thinking person who combines cinematic storytelling with the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence. In this role, you will capture the vibrant life of our students while leveraging AI tools to speed up workflows, enhance creativity, and scale our content output across social media, the web, and digital displays. Specific Responsibilities Video Production & Storytelling ● Film footage of school life, including classroom activities, athletics tournaments, arts performances, student initiatives, and alumni events ● Work with the communications team to storyboard and script promotional videos, admissions campaigns, etc. ● Produce short-form and long-form videos that support the school’s objectives from concept to final delivery: storyboard, direct, film, integrate special effects, enhance and edit (e.g., for student recruitment, fundraising, alumni relations, and school life) and adapt format for a variety of social media platforms ● Coordinate video shoot timelines, equipment and other logistics Creative Innovation and Emerging Technologies ● Maintain and organize video archives, ensuring efficient retrieval and long-term storage. Explore AI tagging systems as a smart archiving solution ● Stay current on video industry best practices and leverage those findings to improve school videos and advise the communications team as required ● Continuously research and integrate emerging technologies, including AI-driven editing tools and automation software, to enhance production value and streamline department workflows Qualifications ● 3+ years in video production (filming, lighting, editing) with a portfolio demonstrating narrative capability ● Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Creative Cloud, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop; Illustrator is an asset) ● Comfort with collaboration, direction, feedback, and back-and-forth workflow, while maintaining project objectives ● Familiarity working in a school environment is an asset. ● Fluency in English is required and functional proficiency in French is highly preferred.
