About the Role
SII Group USA is looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to support and manage PostgreSQL and Oracle database environments for one of our key clients in Houston.
This is a hybrid role, requiring regular on-site presence at the client site in the Post Oak area, combined with remote work flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL and Oracle databasesEnsure database performance, availability, and reliabilityPerform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patchingMonitor databases and proactively troubleshoot issuesImplement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategiesSupport production and non-production environmentsWork closely with application, infrastructure, and security teamsEnsure compliance with security and best-practice standardsProvide documentation and operational support as requiredRequired Experience & Skills
8+ years of experience as a Database AdministratorStrong expertise in PostgreSQL and OracleSolid experience with:Performance tuning and optimizationBackup & recovery strategiesHigh availability and disaster recovery setupsExperience supporting enterprise-scale environmentsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a hybrid on-site / remote modelMust be based in the Houston areaNice to Have
