Join our dynamic team as a Cybersecurity Research Specialist and play a key role in a cutting-edge project aimed at analyzing crashing inputs within open-source software. We are looking for talented professionals who are passionate about cybersecurity and eager to tackle complex challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to investigate crashes, uncover security vulnerabilities, assess their implications in the real world, and design proof-of-concept (PoC) exploits. Responsibilities: • Triage and authenticate crash reports to evaluate their security significance. • Conduct thorough root cause analysis of intricate software vulnerabilities. • Evaluate the exploitability and potential impact of identified vulnerabilities. • Create robust PoC exploits for verified security vulnerabilities. • Document findings meticulously, including root cause analysis, reproduction steps, and security implications. Main Requirements: • Demonstrated experience in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and exploit development. • Strong grasp of common vulnerability categories, particularly memory corruption issues (e.g., buffer overflows, use-after-free errors, type confusion). • Proficiency with debugging tools such as GDB, WinDbg, IDA Pro, or Ghidra. • Practical experience with dynamic analysis tools and sanitizers (e.g., ASan, UBSan, Valgrind). • Familiarity with modern exploit mitigation strategies (e.g., ASLR, DEP/NX, Stack Canaries, CFI). • Comprehensive understanding of operating system internals, memory management, and computer architecture. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and thorough technical documentation. Logistics: • Pay range: $55 - $75/hr based on experience • Expected weekly hours: 10-40 • Location requirements: remote, global (U.S. preferred)
