ICT & Smart Buildings Engineer (Developer Side)
Senior Technical Leadership Role

Role Context
As the platform enters a critical delivery phase, the developer is appointing senior, developer-side technical leaders to act as the single point of authority across design governance, consultant management, and long-term asset performance.
The ICT & Smart Buildings Engineer will lead all digital, ICT, ELV, and smart building strategies from a client-side perspective, ensuring systems are future-ready, secure, integrated, and aligned with operational and asset lifecycle objectives.
Role Purpose
To govern and lead the design of ICT, ELV, and Smart Building systems, ensuring consultant outputs align with the developer’s digital strategy, operational requirements, cybersecurity standards, and long-term asset performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Governance & Consultant Management
• Act as the technical authority for all ICT, ELV, and smart building systems across developments
• Review, coordinate, and technically validate all designs prepared by external consultants
• Direct, challenge, and manage consultants to ensure compliance with project briefs, digital standards, and authority requirements
• Define, implement, and enforce ICT and smart building design standards across the portfolio
• Ensure full coordination with MEP, infrastructure, architecture, operators, and FM teams
ICT & ELV Systems
• Oversee design of structured cabling, data networks, Wi-Fi, telecom rooms, data centres, and backbone infrastructure
• Review and govern security system designs including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems
• Ensure all systems meet regulatory, operational, and cybersecurity requirements
• Oversee AV, IPTV, guest room technology, and operational systems where applicable
Smart Buildings & Digital Integration
• Lead integration of BMS, smart metering, IoT platforms, analytics, and automation systems
• Ensure interoperability between building systems and centralised digital platforms
• Define requirements for scalability, redundancy, resilience, and future technology upgrades
• Align smart systems with energy management, sustainability, and operational efficiency goals
Delivery Support & Risk Management
• Review specialist contractor and vendor proposals to ensure technical compliance and value
• Identify digital, cybersecurity, and system integration risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Support construction-stage activities including submittals, testing, commissioning, and handover
• Ensure documentation supports FM systems, asset management platforms, and digital twins where applicable
Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ICT, or a related discipline
• Minimum 15+ years’ experience in ICT, ELV, and smart building systems
• Background with a leading ICT/ELV consultancy, systems integrator, or real estate developer
• Strong experience in consultant design review and governance rather than installation-only roles
• Solid understanding of smart building platforms, IoT ecosystems, network architecture, and cybersecurity principles
• Experience delivering hospitality, mixed-use, commercial, or large master-planned developments
• Middle East experience preferred; KSA experience is a strong advantage
