Job Description (Posted January 2026) Motto: World-building and healing through the chaos: returning to sentient stories of our bodies and planet. Studio Somatics (soma, Bengali: সোমা), founded by Laureen Andalib at Harvard Business School in 2022, is a storytelling and education studio that engages activism and somatic collisions to address trauma and censorship, liberation, and lost legacies across communities. By interrogating relationships between material, movement, psyche, and land— our storytelling, educational workshops, and coaching services move toward desires for reconciliation through self-determination, revival, empowerment, healing, and embodied inclusivity. As a baseline, this role is therapy- and somatics-forward, with financial stewardship serving as a supporting structure. You are first and foremost a grounding, therapeutic presence—someone who understands how trauma, stress, power, and intergenerational and systemic inequities move through individuals and communities.* • As a Co-Founder at Studio Somatics, you are a core architect of both the inner and outer systems of the studio. As a start up, please note that this job description is open to being co-created by you, and we welcome your suggestions to engineer your own role and title. Primary Responsibilities Somatic Leadership • Provide 1:1 and/or group somatic therapy, coaching, or therapeutic-adjacent support (within scope of licensure) to individuals and communities • Support trauma-informed leadership, boundary clarity, and burnout prevention • Facilitate embodied decision-making where sensation, emotion, intuition, and reflection are treated as valid data • Hold ethical, compassionate space for conversations around power, money, and responsibility • Financial Stewardship & Sustainability • Co-design and steward financial systems with the co-founder that support safety, transparency, and long-term sustainability • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow awareness with clarity and care • Ensure financial practices align with the studio’s healing mission and do not replicate extractive dynamics • Co-create governance, decision-making, and feedback systems that prioritize regulation and trust • Who You Are • A therapist, somatic practitioner, or deeply trained coach who thinks in systems, not silos • Grounded, emotionally fluent, and ethically rigorous • Comfortable holding space for grief, fear, conflict, and uncertainty • Able to engage with money and power without avoidance, shame, or domination • Not interested in hustle culture, spiritual bypassing, or growth at the expense of nervous-system health • Oriented toward long-term healing, not short-term performance Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or prior coursework in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field • Experience in wellness or life coaching, yoga instruction, therapy, or other somatic and/or embodiment-based modalities • Strong foundational understanding of financial systems, budgeting, and fiscal stewardship • Ability to hold financial responsibility without disconnecting from human impact • High ethical standards and respect for boundaries, confidentiality, and scope of practice • Clear communication across emotional, somatic, and financial contexts • Training or lived experience in nervous-system regulation or trauma-informed practice • Experience working with creatives, healers, founders, or mission-driven organizations • Comfort operating in non-linear, evolving environments Compensation Sales- and service-based, commensurate with experience. We are open to hearing your proposal. As a co-founder, compensation is intentionally flexible and co-created. We recognize that therapeutic labor, emotional holding, and systems stewardship are real work and deserve sustainable support. Compensation may include: • Revenue share or commission tied to services, offerings, or studio growth • Baseline retainer with growth- or performance-based upside • Project-based or phased compensation that evolves with the studio • Equity or ownership structures aligned with contribution and responsibility Transparency, trust, and sustainability matter more to us than rigid formulas. We trust you to propose a structure that is ethical, realistic, and supportive—for you and for Studio Somatics.
