Primary Purpose of the Job
Function as Discipline Lead and Technical Authority providing technical leadership and guidance to a team of discipline engineers on Project. Lead and manage the Contractor’s civil, structural engineering work and associated teams to ensure successful project execution and achievement of required technical quality and integrity. Review, verify, and approve discipline deliverables.
Required Experience and Skills
• Minimum 20 years of post‑graduate experience, including 15 years in the power generation / energy industry, with at least 5 years in proven leadership roles.
• Shell Technical Authority Level 2 (TA2), equivalent, or eligible for TA2 certification.
• Experience across Concept/Feasibility, FEED, and EPIC project phases.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil Engineering standards, including international standards and Shell DEPs.
• Knowledge of QatarEnergy Standards, Procedures, and Guidelines (preferred).
• Proven experience in discipline planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution within project constraints.
• Strong understanding of project management principles; PMP certification preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem‑solving and technical decision‑making capabilities.
• Ability to identify engineering risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Strong conflict management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in civil engineering software and tools relevant to the discipline.
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Discipline Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status or a postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
