Join our Illinois field team as a Telecommunications Technician. You’ll work in client exchange buildings supporting connectivity, installations, testing, and decommissioning of telecom equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Location: Chicago, IL (Heavy Travel Required)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Contract (through end of 2028)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $30–$34 per hour (based on experience) + plus $80/day per diem paid every day you’re in the field — including weekends

What You’ll Do:
• Support central office shutdown and decommissioning projects
• Remove and dismantle legacy telecom equipment (switches, racks, cabling)
• Perform hands-on work including heavy lifting and equipment removal
• Follow all site safety protocols and PPE requirements
• Document work and provide progress updates
• Travel extensively to project locations
Requirements:
• Experience in central office or telecom environments
• Hands-on experience with legacy telecom equipment
• Ability to perform heavy physical work
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently (mileage reimbursed)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a basic Excel skills assessment
Preferred:
• Familiarity with 2-wire and ISDN circuits, PSTN infrastructure
• Experience with MDF and IDF
