Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain backend services for customer onboarding, KYC workflows, credit underwriting, disbursements, repayments, and collections
• Develop modular, workflow-driven and state-machine-based services that are scalable and reliable
• Build clean, well-documented REST and integration APIs for enterprise buyers and ecosystem partners
• Implement event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing for scalability and auditability
• Integrate with third-party platforms (KYC providers, CRM, messaging, ERP/procurement, regional APIs)
• Ensure robust error handling, retries, idempotency, reconciliation logic, and audit trails
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MongoDB) to ensure performance and data integrity
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, observability, monitoring, and performance tuning
• Write production-grade, secure code with unit and integration tests
• Take ownership of features from requirements and design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration
Requirements
• 2–3+ years backend engineering experience
• Strong hands-on Java (17+) experience; Java 21 preferred
• Spring Boot experience
• API design and data modelling
• Distributed systems fundamentals
• Security-by-design principles
• Performance optimization and scalability
• Experience with Postgres
• Familiarity with NoSQL patterns (MongoDB a plus)
• Cloud-native development experience and CI/CD (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)
• Proven ability to work independently and own complex features
• Strong cross-functional communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in fintech or financial services
• Prior product-led or startup environment experience
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems
• Familiarity with observability tools, monitoring and performance tuning
• Experience integrating KYC providers, ERPs, CRMs, or regional ecosystem APIs
