Backend Engineer – Advanced
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite– Local candidates only)
Experience: 8–12 Years
Interview: Video + Final Round F2F
We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer (8–12 years) to design and build scalable backend services and APIs in a cloud-native environment. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in AWS, Java, Spring Boot, Python, GraphQL, and RESTful API design. You will work closely with product, frontend, DevOps, and data teams to deliver secure, high-performance microservices and backend systems.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and Python
• Build and enhance APIs using GraphQL and RESTful API standards
• Create scalable, secure, and high-performing microservices architecture
• Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as: Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM
• Write clean, reusable, and testable code following best engineering practices
• Optimize performance, reduce latency, and improve system reliability
• Implement authentication/authorization, API security, and data protection standards
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams and participate in code reviews
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 8–12 years of Backend Development experience
• Strong hands-on in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices
• Strong experience in AWS cloud services
• Experience working with Python backend development
• Expertise in GraphQL API development
• Expertise in RESTful API design (best practices, versioning, error handling)
• Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases (RDS, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL/MySQL etc.)
• Hands-on with CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Experience with logging/monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Splunk, ELK, etc.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
