About the position iManage U provides students the chance to experience a dynamic, rapid growth technology company firsthand. iManage will provide a structured program which delivers project-based activities, improved knowledge of business fundamentals, tackling complex problem solving, collaboration, team building, and some fun experiences along the way! This year, our paid internship program will kick-off on Monday, June 8th and will run through Thursday, August 13th. This internship will be based out of our downtown Chicago office, with activities requiring in-person presence. As an AI intern on our team, you’ll be working on researching and applying cutting edge Gen AI algorithms and using Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods to work on some of our most interesting problems using expertly curated datasets. You operate with a data-focused mindset, and so you will have the opportunity to experiment with our datasets and contribute to a special project. You will rely on Python and its data science ecosystem, using various NLP methods, to rigorously measure our product quality, improve enterprise products, and understand the behavior of end-users. Responsibilities • Performing exploratory analyses on text corpora, developing preprocessing pipelines for training data, and generating hypotheses to optimize model performance and fine-tuning strategies • Designing and implementing prompt engineering frameworks to enhance LLM outputs, including few-shot learning approaches and chain-of-thought reasoning techniques • Maintaining highest quality standards through process to identify and correct mistakes and inconsistencies in processes • Fine-tuning language models for NLP tasks using transformer architectures, advanced algorithms and software tools • Conducting cutting-edge research experiments on novel AI methodologies that inform product strategy and model development roadmaps Requirements • Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and statistics • A current enrollment in a PhD or Master's program specializing in machine learning, data science, artificial intelligence, computer science, statistics, or a related field • Used Python packages to extract, structure, classify, and analyze text data • Solid knowledge of foundational machine and deep learning concepts • Foundational understanding of Generative AI concepts • Knowledge of the theory and practice of standard NLP tasks and models • A passion to learn and improve within the company and share knowledge with colleagues Nice-to-haves • Used/Built programs that use PyTorch
