About the Role: As a part of Cloudflare Professional Services, you’ll be crucial in delivering advisory services and hands-on implementations for enterprise clients. In the role of an Application Security and Performance Specialist, you will provide technical expertise post-sales, ensuring clients maximize the value of their Cloudflare investment. You will be proficient in Layer 7 solutions including DDoS Protection, WAF, API Gateway, Bot Management, and more. This position operates Monday to Friday from 09:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m., with occasional weekend support required for customer changes outside regular hours. Expect around 30% travel. What You'll Do: • Develop and deliver organized and timely services for customers to ensure they gain maximum value from Cloudflare's products, offering advice on best practices. • Collect business and technical requirements, creating solutions tailored to customer needs, and transition Cloudflare's environment to their technical teams. Produce necessary documentation including Solution Designs, HLD, LLD, data builds, procedures, and migration plans. • Execute customer changes in the Cloudflare system in accordance with their change management processes, and guide clients in configuring their integrations. • Troubleshoot implementation challenges, working closely with Customer Support, Engineering, and other teams for technical escalations. • Enhance organizational success by sharing knowledge through documentation, technical Q&A, and contributing to best practices. Collaborate on building operational tools such as templates, scripts, and workflows. Qualifications: You may have: • Over 5 years in customer-facing roles such as Customer Engineer, Security Engineer, Consultant, or similar. • In-depth knowledge of OSI model layers and protocols like TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP. • Familiarity with Internet and Security technologies including DDoS, WAF, Certificates, and CDN. • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash) and a strong desire to grow in this area. • Understanding of security measures for internet properties, including DNS and (M)TLS. • Knowledge of performance aspects regarding speed, latency, and caching. • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, and strong API skills. • Project management abilities, handling deadlines, and managing competing priorities effectively. • Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of a second European language is advantageous.
