Job Summary Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. As Vice President, Service & Access Planning, you will play a crucial role in providing leadership and oversight for the Rail Corridor Access and Service Design functions. About the Role You will be accountable for developing and overseeing the execution of the transit safety assurance program for rail expansion, rapid transit, and subways. You will lead the development of contractual requirements and manage all rail corridor access activities from planning to contract development and in-field operations. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute a long-term service planning and access strategy aligned with corporate vision and goals. • Lead and oversee detailed planning to maximize safe and efficient utilization of rail corridor accesses for CPG construction and minimize overall effect on rail operations and stakeholders. • Oversee contractor compliance with related contractual terms and conditions governing contractor access to Metrolinx and host railway owned rail corridors. • Establish and manage key trends and metrics to actively monitor projects' adherence to and compliance with contractual requirements. • Develop long-term strategies and operational plans that meet Metrolinx' future business delivery objectives. • Liaise with external authorities to provide program clarity and address corridor access and system planning concerns. • Provide strategic leadership to the Service Planning and Corridor Access teams. Requirements • Post-graduate degree in Transportation Engineering or a related discipline. • Minimum 15 years' progressive senior leadership/management experience in service planning and related functions. • Understanding of laws and regulations governing railway systems in Canada. • Experience leading the development of service planning policies, procedures, processes, tools, and training based on industry best practices.
