My client, a rapidly scaling AI-first construction technology company, is hiring a Head of Computer Vision to join their team in San Francisco. They’ve built a platform that combines wearable cameras, human labelling, and advanced AI vision models to transform on-site productivity in one of the world’s largest and most complex industries. With thousands of hours of video data already captured, hundreds of devices deployed across major contractors, and a $5M seed round closed in April 2025, they’re on track for a Series A later this year. The Role As Head of Computer Vision, you’ll own the CV technical roadmap — from optimising their auto-labelling systems, to developing algorithms that measure construction productivity, to working closely with hardware engineers on the next generation of wearable devices. You’ll join a close-knit team of 10 including ex-Neuralink, Cruise, and AV perception specialists. This is a ground-floor role with huge scope for technical leadership and product impact. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and scaling of computer vision models for auto-labelling 15,000+ hours of construction video • Build quantity-tracking algorithms (e.g. counting bricks laid, wire installed) for real-world productivity measurement • Collaborate with hardware engineers on sensor suite development for wearable cameras • Ship production-grade ML systems deployed at active construction sites What We’re Looking For • Strong background in autonomous vehicle perception (Cruise, Waymo, Applied Intuition, Aurora, etc.) or production-grade CV systems • Proven track record of shipping real-world AI/ML products • Hands-on coding experience in PyTorch, CNNs, LSTMs, VLMs, MLOps • Interest in mission-driven work that impacts frontline industries Location 📍 San Francisco – 5 days onsite
