Job Description We are seeking a Manager - Stations and Facilities to provide comprehensive engineering/architecture and project management services associated with the delivery of the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension Project. The Project will be delivered via a Progressive Design Build (PDB) procurement model. Responsibilities • Deliver all stations and facilities components during implementation from design development through commissioning and transfer to other Project teams of Eglinton Crosstown West Extension and Metrolinx Engineering, within scope, on budget and on schedule. • Oversee project activities to ensure compliance with good project management and construction practices as well as corporate design standards and applicable municipal, provincial and federal codes. • Maintain safety, quality and environmental compliance throughout project implementation. • Lead staff in managing risks and issues, including interface and integration risks between other activities of Eglinton Crosstown West Extension project and Contracts. • Manage activities within budget allocations and schedules, including timely reporting of financial and performance results and any significant cost, security, safety, human resources or project management issues. • Ensure adherence to Metrolinx's corporate policies relating to construction safety. Participate in employer's safety assurance and management programs. • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external agencies, utility companies, etc. in defining project requirements, developing project implementation plans and ensuring engagement during procurement phase, project development phase, construction, commissioning, and handover phases. • Lead direct and indirect reporting staff, including consultants and contractors, in the design and construction of infrastructure related to the Capital Projects Group (Rapid Transit) program to achieve program milestones and deliverables that are consistent with quality standards throughout the full project life cycle. Requirements • Completion of a degree in applied science, engineering or architecture from a university of recognized standing, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience with a sound understanding of the Professional Engineers Act and Architect Act. • Professional Engineer (Ontario Association of Architects) and Project Management Professional (PMP) designations are considered assets. • Demonstrated progressively responsible experience in capital project management and implementation, with a focus on transit stations and linear infrastructure, including at least two years of experience managing large, complex, multi-year transit projects. • Knowledge of Progressive Design Build procurement delivery model, management of Reference Concept Design and Project Specific Output Specifications (PSOS) development and Project Agreement Schedules and compliance management. • Organizational, interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills to coordinate complex projects under pressure to meet schedule and budget commitments. • Knowledge of Contract Law, Construction Liens Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Environmental Assessment Act, and the requirements of the Professional Engineers Act. • Strong problem solving and influencing skills to establish effective working relationships, negotiate, and deal with a variety of contacts, both internal and external to the organization. • A valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's license is required to travel to various site locations, meetings, operational facilities, etc.
