Job Title: Receptionist Location: Near Stratford Station Salary: £30,576 per year Contract Type: Full-time Working Hours: 40 hours per week Working Days: Monday to Friday Shift Pattern: 8:00am–5:00pm or 8:30am–5:30pm Holiday Entitlement: 28 days including bank holidays About the Role As a Receptionist at The Turing Building, you will be pivotal in creating a warm and professional first impression for every visitor. You will deliver best-in-class guest experiences, support daily operations, and ensure our reception and lounge areas remain immaculate. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to anticipate and respond to guests’ needs with efficiency and discretion. Key Responsibilities • Greet and host all guests in line with Bennett Hay service standards, ensuring every visitor feels welcome and valued • Consistently remember and refer to regular guests by name, maintaining an encyclopaedia of guest preferences • Manage guest sign-in, issue visitor passes, and coordinate with hosts to announce arrivals • Assist with meeting room bookings and preparation, including room dressing and setup • Be an expert on the building, amenities, and surrounding Stratford Cross area to guide and assist guests • Manage the building app and guest management systems to ensure accurate records and smooth communication • Support security procedures, issue temporary passes, and liaise with the security team as needed • Ensure reception, lounge, and shared areas are clean, tidy, and professionally presented throughout the day • Report operational, safety, or maintenance issues promptly through the appropriate channels • Assist with occasional out-of-hours events and provide flexible support to colleagues when required What We’re Looking For • Previous experience in a high-end hospitality, front-of-house, or reception environment • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional manner • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail • Confident using IT systems, guest management platforms, and Microsoft Office • Proactive problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude • A polished personal presentation and commitment to upholding company standards • Knowledge of Stratford and local amenities is desirable Benefits • 28 days holiday including bank holidays • Pension scheme • Uniform provided • Access to training and development opportunities • Employee assistance programme • A supportive and inclusive working environment Start Date: To be confirmed Please do not call our Head Office for vacancy-related questions, as our HR Recruitment team is not always on site and prefer emails.
