We need 1-2 brilliant PHP developers, to help raise our 'nice' Wordpress site to a much higher level of user engagement & excitement with some clever bits of simple PHP code. Basically, we want to be the best charity website ever! Can you help?
What will you be doing?
We are in the process of transforming our nice, perfectly acceptable Wordpress website with a suite of small, clever snippets of PHP code so we can add a whole host of extra functionality to really excite and engage our growing user base and make us more ready for some brilliant new projects over the coming months and beyond.
Much of the website's content is already in place and is good (although we're always happy to explore ways to continually improve) , but we are looking to add some new pages and this new functionality, in order to make the whole website more appealing and exciting to use.
Virtually all the new functionality will be achieved with small PHP snippets, connecting to our exisiting PHPmyadmin and then embedded into the existing Wordpress site. So a high level of skill and experience in PHP is essential. Each snippet (and there could be a dozen or so) will consist of a small piece of PHP code and should take an experienced person about a day or two to complete and test. But a skilled website developer may see other areas of the website where we could make enhancements and we'd always welcome such ideas.
Our goal is to make this website one of the most exciting sites to use on the internet. We're aiming to reach out and support charities and good causes of all types, all over the world. We can make donations to support their work, promote their campaigns and events, and offer grants to their supporters too.
Primarily, our website will be educational to create more awareness about important global issues such as poverty, human rights, environment and health. But we will also aim to monetise the traffic we create to increase the fund available to make donations to all our partner organisations.
Basically, we want to become the mother of all charities.

We're looking for experienced web developers who have a bit of knowledge of wordpress but who also have great skills in PHP - people who want to use their skills to give something back. You should have at least 3 years experience.

And the extra functionality will help people gain vast amounts of knowledge and wisdom about all sorts of subjects, but especially about the big global issues affecting the future of our planet. And we'll be helping them with loads of great ideas about how they can reduce their own personal impact on the environment and improve their own health. You will be helping us achieve all this.
