As a Data Governance Engineer, you will be responsible for in configuring and deploying data governance metrics and controls within the platform environment. Leveraging tools such as Azure Purview or Databricks, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, establish data quality standards, and promote best practices for data management.
• *Responsibilities**:
- Configuration and Deployment: Implement and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures in Azure cloud environment using tools like Azure Purview.
- Data Quality Management: Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to define and enforce data quality standards, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation processes.
- Metadata Management: Establish and maintain metadata repositories to facilitate data discovery, lineage, and impact analysis.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, or industry-specific standards, and implement appropriate controls to mitigate risks.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential data governance issues and develop strategies to address them proactively.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data governance requirements and drive alignment on implementation strategies.
- Documentation and Training: Create documentation, guidelines, and training materials to educate users on data governance policies, processes, and best practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data governance, and recommend enhancements to existing processes and tools.
- Auditing: Perform regular audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with data governance policies.
- Incident management: Troubleshoot data governance issues and recommend solutions to enhance data quality and security.
• *Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in data governance and data management domain with a strong understanding of best practices and international standards
- Certification in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, data governance, or related roles.
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts and tools for predictive analytics and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, particularly Azure Purview, Azure Databricks, and Profisee Master Data Management.
- Proficiency in configuring and deploying data governance solutions in Azure cloud environment.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, including data quality, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, IBM InfoSphere, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data governance issues.
- Solid understanding of cloud technologies, particularly Azure services and infrastructure.
- Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Python, SQL, PowerShell, or similar.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data integrity and security.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
