Position- PostgreSQL DBA Consultant with Bank/Finance/Investment domain exp, Local Location- New York City, NY Type- Hybrid- (3 days onsite/week) Visa- Job Description: Our client, a leading global financial services firm specializing in banking and investment management, is seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join their technology team in New York City. This is a consulting opportunity focused on supporting and optimizing PostgreSQL database environments across a complex, high-performance trading and investment management ecosystem. Responsibilities: • Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL database systems in support of business-critical financial applications • Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and index management • Support data replication, backup and recovery strategies, and high availability (HA) configurations • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to implement database design and scalability best practices • Ensure data integrity and security compliance with industry regulations and internal policies • Participate in capacity planning, monitoring, and proactive troubleshooting • Support migrations and upgrades, including conversion from legacy systems or other RDBMS platforms to PostgreSQL • Automate routine tasks using scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, or Ansible) Required Skills: • 7+ years of experience as a DBA with at least 3 5 years specializing in PostgreSQL • Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals • Experience working in high-throughput, low-latency environments (financial services a plus) • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL replication (streaming, logical, etc.), partitioning, and performance tuning • Familiarity with Linux (preferably RHEL or Ubuntu) and shell scripting • Experience with cloud-hosted PostgreSQL (AWS RDS/Aurora, Google Cloud Platform Cloud SQL, or Azure Database for PostgreSQL) is a plus • Knowledge of database security practices, auditing, and compliance (SOX, GDPR, etc.) • Excellent communication and collaboration skills Thanks & Regards Shivam Rajpal Sr. Technical Recruiter Desk- X 142 Mob- Email- LinkedIn- Voto Consulting LLC- M/WBE Certified Company
