Role: Ruby on Rails Developer
Location: NYC, NY
Job Description
• Provide timely technical support to internal teams, stakeholders, and customers
• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Ruby on Rails and modern front-end frameworks (Angular/React)
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
• Refactor existing code to enhance security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
• Work with PostgreSQL database schemas and complex queries
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and developers to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective fixes
• Work independently on new initiatives and enhancements
• Provide application support during shifts and weekends as required
Technical Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and Node.js
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Strong understanding of REST API design and implementation
• Experience troubleshooting performance, scalability, and reliability issues
• Experience working with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, etc.)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Trello)
• Nice to have: Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD best practices
