As our team scales, we are looking to bring on an experienced engineering leader to drive a culture of engineering excellence at our Palo Alto office. Reporting into our CTO, you will lead diverse teams of engineers with responsibilities in both product and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
• Execution Velocity: drive a high-tempo shipping cadence, ensuring the team consistently delivers on product and engineering milestones
• Project Orchestration: Coordinate complex engineering efforts across teams, identifying critical path dependencies and removing blockers to keep projects on track
• Talent Development: Actively mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing the coaching and feedback loops necessary to maximize their growth and technical output.
• Research-to-Production: Build the bridge between research and engineering, operationalizing experimental foundation models into robust, scalable production systems
• Engineering Culture: Instill a culture of rigor, velocity, and code quality; define the standards for testing, CI/CD, and developer experience
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with the C-level leadership team and research leads to align technical deliverables with the company’s scientific milestones and product vision
Qualifications
• Leadership Experience: 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles, managing managers and high performing engineering teams
• Domain Expertise: Experience with foundation models and complex generative AI products. Strong architectural fluency in modern AI infrastructure
• Strategic Execution: Demonstrated ability to transition complex technologies from an R&D phase to a commercial-grade platform
• Scale & Infrastructure: Deep technical understanding of high-performance computing, GPU cluster optimization, and the architectural challenges involved in training and serving foundation models at scale
