Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Linux System Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust Linux-based infrastructure in support of business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring system reliability, scalability, and security across on-premise and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE) in production and development environments.
• Perform system monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance.
• Manage user accounts, file systems, and security policies.
• Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Automate administrative tasks using shell scripting or tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Support network services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP, SSH, SMTP, etc.) and troubleshoot related issues.
• Collaborate with application and network teams to deploy and support mission-critical systems.
• Manage and monitor system patching, kernel upgrades, and security hardening.
• Participate in on-call support rotation and provide incident response and root cause analysis.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
Required Qualifications:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing Linux-based systems in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of Linux OS internals, system administration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.) for automation.
• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid knowledge of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, SSH, NFS, firewalls).
• Experience with system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE), or similar certifications.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of security compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, MAS TRM).
