Senior Product Designer, Mobile, Canada Retirement
In this role, you will collaborate with a hard-working team of Accessibility Specialists, Service Designers, Experience Strategists, Content Designers, and Researchers in a creative and inclusive environment that champions user-centered design. Position Responsibilities:
• Digital Design: Primarily designing mobile customer applications, including native iOS and Android design patterns in complement to design for desktop.
• Design Process: Be responsible for research and design exploration to inform the retirement product roadmap and experience improvements, with a focus on optimizing mobile-first interactions and responsive design principles.
• Design System Development: Maintain and apply a common mobile design system to maintain consistency in visual and interactive elements, including mobile-specific components and guidelines.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers and others to integrate experience strategies into product roadmaps, ensuring mobile priorities are clearly represented and aligned with business goals.
• Design Assets: Deliver design artifacts, such as wireframes and flow diagrams, to ensure quality and consistency, with particular attention to mobile navigation flows, gestures, and touch targets.
• User Testing: Conduct and synthesize findings from user tests to inform and refine design solutions, ensuring they are user-centric and aligned with business objectives.
• Continuous Learning: Continuously update your knowledge of next-generation mobile experiences, emerging technologies, and innovative process practices.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1. Professional Experience: Minimum of 6+ years of product design experience, working with cross-functional team
2. Mobile Design Expertise: proven expertise in mobile app design for iOS and Android platforms.
3. End-to-End Design Process: Deep understanding of the end-to-end digital product design process, user flows, wireframing, content modeling, prototyping, and user validation.
4. Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as, Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles, with deep knowledge of mobile usability standards and platform-specific design conventions.
5. Communication Skills: Persuasive communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to articulate design ideas to both designers and non-designers.
Portfolio Required: Please include a portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, your process, craftsmanship, and successful outcomes.
Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience in design, HCI-human-computer interaction, or a related field
