Title : UI/UX Designer
Role : Mississauga, ON hybrid
Position: Contract
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Prototyping
• UI Design (EN & FR)
• Design intuitive, user-friendly form layouts optimized for completion efficiency
• Define field layouts, spacing, labels, error states, and help text
• Ensure consistency across forms while accommodating use-case variations
• PDF Output Design (EN & FR)
• Design customer- and employee-facing PDF documents generated from eForms
• Define typography, spacing, hierarchy, and visual structure
• Ensure documents are readable, printable, and accessible
• Templates, Use Cases & Variations
• Create and maintain master templates for PDFs and forms
• Design variations based on business rules, data conditions, and business needs
• Document design logic to support efficient development and reuse
Standards & Branding
• Enterprise Design Alignment
• Ensure designs comply with the BMO Design Library and branding standards
• Apply enterprise visual guidelines consistently across all forms and documents
• Identify gaps in existing standards and propose enhancements
• Design Standards Creation & Maintenance
• Create or update design standards as required to support new use cases
• Document best practices for form layout, PDF structure, and accessibility
• Promote consistency across teams and initiatives
Collaboration & Usability
• Business & BA Collaboration
• Partner with business stakeholders and Business Analysts to translate requirements into effective designs
• Validate design decisions against documented business and regulatory needs
• User Journey & Usability Integration
• Incorporate user journey insights into form and document design
• Apply usability feedback to improve clarity, efficiency, and completion rates
• Balance user experience with compliance and operational constraints
• Developer Collaboration (Quadient)
• Work closely with Quadient Developers to ensure designs are technically feasible
• Adjust designs to align with platform capabilities and limitations
• Support implementation by clarifying design intent and behavior
Accessibility & Quality
• Accessibility Compliance
• Design forms and PDFs to meet accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG)
• Ensure proper contrast, focus order, labels, and screen-reader compatibility
• Scalability & Reuse
• Design with scalability in mind to support future forms and document expansion
• Promote reuse of components, layouts, and patterns
