Process & Application Lead V (Hybrid)
Pomona, CA (sometimes working at a secondary location in Rosemead, CA)
Duration: initial 18 month contract
Pay range: $105-113/hr
This role is responsible for delivering high-quality SAP-enabled financial solutions, with a focus on SAP S/4 HANA and related systems. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in finance transformation, SAP architecture, and agile delivery methodologies. Responsibilities span solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end delivery of SAP financial solutions across SAP S/4 HANA, MDG, BW4HANA, Datasphere, SAC, and integrated applications (e.g., Blackline, OneSource Global Next, OpenText Vendor Invoice Management, Taulia, Finance4U).
• Collaborate with system integrators using a hybrid Agile (POD-based) methodology, including sprint planning, user story mapping, and feature review.
• Review and provide feedback on technical and functional documentation (FSD, TSD, BCD, PDD, BPP).
• Ensure solution design and build activities align with business requirements and quality standards.
• Participate in architectural governance, present technical recommendations, and ensure cloud-aligned SAP design principles.
• Validate SAP configuration against documented requirements and perform or support configuration when necessary.
• Review development objects (RICEFWs) for alignment to standards and architecture, and provide guidance on system integrations.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks affecting scope, schedule, and resources.
• Support all testing phases (SIT, UAT, performance, regression), mock cutovers, and deployment planning.
• Participate in go-live events and provide hyper-care support; conduct knowledge transfer to operations and support teams.
• Analyze financial and cost data to evaluate efficiencies, estimate production and operational expenses, and monitor changes in cost structures.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience delivering complex SAP Finance transformation programs, ideally in S/4 HANA private cloud and RISE environments.
• Expert-level knowledge of SAP FI/CO/TR/PS, including:
• General ledger, accounts payable/receivable
• Management accounting and corporate close
• Project systems, fixed asset accounting, cash management
• Financial planning, analysis, and reporting
• Cross-functional knowledge in SAP Sales & Distribution, Materials Management, and/or Plant Maintenance.
• Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with financial applications such as Blackline, OneSource Global Next, Taulia, Tagetik, OpenText VIM, Power Plan, UI Planner, and Finance4U.
• SAP BTP/Cloud ABAP and Fiori development experience; prior ABAP experience with RICEFW objects.
• Working knowledge of SAP BW4HANA, Datasphere, and SAP Analytics Cloud a plus.
• Experience using SAP Cloud ALM and project documentation tools (epics, user stories, features).
• Familiarity with SAP Signavio for business process mapping.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• 5-7+ years applicable professional experience (finance, technical, or business systems)
• Strong track record in cost analysis, financial data modeling, and operational efficiency evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in utilities, energy, or other asset-intensive industries.
• Background in Bluefield SAP implementations.
