We are in search of a passionate and licensed Telecommunications Systems Design Engineer who is eager to contribute to projects that are integral to our clients' operations. This hybrid position allows flexibility while enabling you to collaborate on groundbreaking work across various sectors. As a part of our talented team, you will engage in projects concerning semiconductor manufacturing as well as cutting-edge manufacturing and research facilities. Your role will focus on providing comprehensive telecommunications systems design documentation that play a vital part in shaping advanced facilities that enhance our world. In your position, you will have the opportunity to take on project leadership responsibilities, acting as the design lead while mentoring supporting design staff to produce intricate design packages. Working alongside architects and engineers within the Jacobs design team, you will interact directly with clients to ensure that the facilities are tailored to meet their specific needs. Our teams utilize AutoCAD and Revit MEP design software to develop fully coordinated 3D models across all relevant disciplines, delivering a mixture of 3D BIM solutions, construction specifications, and 2D documentation. If you are driven by curiosity and a desire to excel, we encourage you to apply. • Two-year technical degree or a four-year non-technical degree • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in telecommunications design and construction • Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC) telecommunications design requirements • Understanding of telecommunications industry association (TIA) standards • Experience leading telecommunications design teams • Background in editing design and construction specifications • Start-up and commissioning experience with telecommunications systems • Ability to estimate and schedule design efforts for large, multi-phase projects • Strong expertise in structured cabling design • Proficient in Bluebeam software • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Familiarity with Navisworks software Additionally, you may also possess: • BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Services International) RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) credential, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months • At least 4 years of design experience in the semiconductor or data center industries • Project management experience • Knowledge and working experience with Revit and Navisworks software platforms • Expertise in emergency responder radio and DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) design • Experience with telecommunications infrastructure for life safety and security systems, including fire alarms, access control, and CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) • Familiarity with telecom infrastructure for control systems • Ability to review and assure telecommunications systems designed by others • Other certifications, such as BICSI OSP (Outside Plant) or BICSI RTPM (Registered Telecommunications Project Manager) Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
