• *About this opportunity**:
• *What you will do**:
- Be part of the “Cloud, OpenShift, Linux and Unix” team working onsite for One of largest operator in Dubai from customer-site and responsible to get work done from remote teams.
- Administer and maintain Linux/UNIX based servers and environments (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE, HP-UNIX, Solaris).
- Design, implement, and support OpenShift clusters and container orchestration.
- Ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability of Linux systems and OpenShift clusters.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues, including hardware, software, and networking.
- Implement automation scripts (using Bash, Python, Ansible) for system administration tasks.
- Configuration automation on ansible and ansible automation platform.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior system administrators.
- Ensure backup, disaster recovery, and system availability strategies are in place and tested.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Collaborate with network and storage teams to ensure efficient resource management.
- Manage system updates, patches, and vulnerability remediation for both Linux and OpenShift environments.
- Work with the security team to implement hardening and compliance procedures for Linux systems and OpenShift deployments.
- Responsible for infrastructure operation and ensuring the availability of the platform.
- Support in troubleshooting, OpenShift issues, deployment, CICD, Ceph, tools integration related to infrastructure.
- OpenShift version upgrade, installing and troubleshooting operators, hardware and ceph storage.
- Firmware upgrade.
- Operating patching and version upgrade.
• *To be successful in this role**:
- Deep technical skills to manage the queries and plan of recovery of system during any critical incident resolution including troubleshooting & restoration of operating system in the event of a crash.
- Linux and OpenShift certification.
- Build (over time) understanding around customer’s environment to be able to do proper business impact assessment.
- Experience with ITSM ticketing tool (HPSM is desirable).
- Soft skills to be able to work with your stake holders (customer, manager, and peers).
- Desire to learn new things.
- Log & coordinate with different vendors for ongoing SRs.
- Basic understanding of virtualization and automation concepts.
• *Key Qualifications**:
- Engineering Graduate in Computer Science or similar
- 8+ years of experience in IT Operations - Infrastructure System Admin in the areas like Unix, Linux, OpenShift, NFVI, SDN and Cloud.
- Exposure in Telecom and IT Managed Services preferred.
- Technical Skills and Certification.
- Linux, Unix (Solaris/HP-UX), Kubernetes
- RedHat OpenShift experience and certification is must.
- RedHat OpenStack
- Shell Scripting, Python
- Tools like Ansible, CI/CD (Argo CD)
