We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer who proactively prevents infrastructure failures rather than simply reacting to them. If you find satisfaction in dissecting complicated legacy systems, architecting more efficient solutions, and automating repetitive processes out of existence, this opportunity is for you. We need an AWS and DevOps infrastructure specialist who excels in demanding environments where 99.9% uptime is the baseline expectation. Your work will span a portfolio of acquired products, each presenting unique challenges, as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while implementing monitoring and automation that genuinely reduces incident frequency. Unlike typical companies that ask you to maintain one technology stack, we expect you to consolidate and refine multiple stacks without causing disruptions. Where other organizations separate databases, our approach is intentionally different: we strategically consolidate them to maximize cost efficiency and management simplicity across our entire portfolio. This position isn't designed for someone content to oversee existing infrastructure; it's built for someone who encounters fragmented, inconsistent environments and instinctively begins architecting improvements. Your scope will encompass infrastructure migrations, AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database migration projects, and cost reduction initiatives. This involves troubleshooting and resolving existing issues, designing and implementing cloud migrations that achieve near-zero downtime, and leveraging AI/ML-driven workflows to automate significant portions of operational work. You'll possess genuine decision-making authority over infrastructure choices—no endless waiting for sign-offs from stakeholders who lack technical depth. If you're a self-directed problem-solver energized by untangling intricate systems and achieving operational excellence, this role will be highly rewarding. If you require constant guidance, become overwhelmed managing diverse technology stacks, or prefer greenfield projects over creating structure from complexity, this environment will not suit you. If you're prepared to assume ownership of a high-impact infrastructure position with substantial opportunities to build, optimize, and automate at scale, submit your application today! What You Will Be Doing • Designing and executing sophisticated infrastructure changes, including migrations from legacy environments to AWS cloud infrastructure and lift-and-shift migration projects • Creating and deploying monitoring strategies and developing automation for monitoring systems, software deployment pipelines, and operational processes • Conducting system monitoring, managing system backups, responding to incidents, executing database migrations, configuring database systems, and optimizing infrastructure costs What You Won’t Be Doing • Spending your time in Jira and perpetual status meetings - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not merely document issues • Keeping outdated systems running indefinitely - you'll be authorized to implement substantial improvements • Waiting through bureaucratic approval processes - you'll have authority to implement immediate remediation during incidents • Operating within restrictive technical specializations - this position demands both comprehensive knowledge and specialized expertise • Justifying budget requests for essential improvements - we recognize that infrastructure investment is critical Senior DevOps Engineer Key Responsibilities • Advance reliability and consistency of cloud infrastructure throughout our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices. Basic Requirements • Extensive AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our core platform - experience with other cloud providers alone is insufficient) • Solid programming capabilities in Python or JavaScript for creating automation and tooling solutions • Demonstrated experience managing and migrating production databases across multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL) • Expert-level Docker/Kubernetes proficiency • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation) • Proficiency in Linux systems administration About Trilogy Hundreds of software businesses run on the Trilogy Business Platform.
