Senior Systems Engineer- Advanced Radar and Surveillance
• Enfield, North London
• £55,000 - £65,000 + excellent bens.
Are you a systems thinker who loves tackling complex technical challenges?
Join a world-class engineering team pushing the boundaries of radar and surveillance technology. You’ll play a key role in designing, integrating, and delivering mission-critical systems that protect lives and assets across the UK and beyond.
This is your chance to work at the forefront of innovation — where cutting-edge technology meets real-world impact.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll take ownership of full system lifecycles — from initial concept and design through to integration, verification, and delivery. You’ll collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams (Software, Mechanical, Electrical) to ensure our advanced systems perform flawlessly in the field.
Your day-to-day will include:
• Leading system design, integration, and testing activities.
• Driving system engineering best practices across multiple high-impact projects.
• Engaging with stakeholders and customers to capture requirements and shape technical solutions.
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Applying your skills flexibly across a range of technologies, platforms, and products.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone with:
• Strong experience in systems design, integration, and test.
• Solid understanding of the full product lifecycle — from concept to in-service support.
• Broad appreciation of multi-disciplinary engineering (Software, Mechanical, Electrical).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive mindset and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a cross-functional team.
Desirable Experience (Bonus Points)
Not essential, but it would be great if you have:
• Understanding of Radar or Radio Systems, or the ability to rapidly master new technologies.
• Experience across the full engineering lifecycle — concept, development, and production.
• Familiarity with communications protocols (RS485, RS232, TCP-IP, CANBus).
• Exposure to Naval or Maritime systems, navigation equipment, or platform integration.
• Hands-on experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, multimeters).
• Basic electronics knowledge and circuit-level fault finding.
• Awareness of EMC, ESD, and electronics lab practices.
• Ability to lead multi-skilled teams and deliver engineering packages to time, cost, and quality.
• Chartered or working towards professional registration (IMechE, IET, INCOSE).
• Experience compiling technical bid proposals.
Why Join Us
At the forefront of defence and surveillance innovation, you’ll be part of a company that:
• Works on projects with real-world purpose and national importance.
• Encourages creativity, continuous learning, and professional development.
• Offers a collaborative, supportive, and forward-thinking environment.
• Gives you the autonomy to make a difference from day one.
If you’re ready to take your systems engineering career to the next level — where every project challenges and inspires — we’d love to hear from you.
