Systems Engineer – Managed Service Provider (MSP)

We are a well-established Managed Service Provider (MSP) delivering reliable, secure, and scalable IT solutions to a diverse client base. Our team supports complex client environments across cloud, infrastructure, and security, and we pride ourselves on strong technical standards, automation, and exceptional customer service.
We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to take a senior technical role within our MSP environment. Previous MSP experience is required to move forward in the interview process.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Act as the technical escalation point for infrastructure-related outages, failures, and complex issues
• Lead incident response efforts, providing clear internal and customer-facing communication
• Support and optimize Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, core services)
• Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online user environments
• Support virtualized environments using VMware
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot SonicWall firewalls
• Coach and mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers on troubleshooting approach, ticket quality, and best practices
• Ensure all work aligns with SLA commitments and MSP operational standards
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate repeatable tasks (scripting/process improvement)
• Work with monitoring and systems management tools to proactively identify issues
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and documentation
• Take part in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule
Must-Have Requirements
• Prior experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure
• Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization
• Solid background supporting Windows Server environments (AD, GPO)
• Firewall configuration and troubleshooting experience (SonicWall)
• Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online administration experience
• Familiarity with IT Glue (documentation, process discipline)
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Automation or scripting experience
• Experience improving MSP processes or documentation standards
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA, etc.)
