Responsibilities
• Design and develop highly reliable, performant Rust systems
• Ensure comprehensive automated test coverage
• Contribute to architecture and technical roadmap decisions
• Tackle complex distributed systems problems end-to-end
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver great developer UX
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code
• Drive deep performance optimization and benchmarking
Requirements
• Extensive Rust expertise
• Large-scale distributed systems experience (production)
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Product mindset with user empathy
• Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively
• Prior experience with intensive pair programming
• Hands-on SQL database performance tuning
• Based in the UAE (Dubai or elsewhere within the UAE)
Preferred Qualifications
• Open-source maintainer or significant contributor
• Building developer tooling from scratch in pure Rust
• Low-level systems programming and zero-dependency design
• Observability, benchmarking, and profiling expertise
• Experience in high-growth startup environments
