Job Description:
SQL Database Developer
Must haves:
Development and administration
TSQL, SSIS, SSRS
The Database Developer will develop reports, stored procedures, SSIS jobs, and all database-oriented work to support Ovid Delivery.
This person needs to be well-versed in SQL development and should understand data relationships well.
Requirements
RESULTS
Database Development 50%
Create Entity Relationship (ER) Diagrams to the proposed database
Create database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, Triggers etc.
Maintain referential integrity, domain integrity and column integrity by using the available options such as
constraints etc.
Identify columns for Primary Keys in all the tables at the design time and create them. Create functions to provide custom functionality as per the requirements.
Be aware of potential blocking, deadlocking and write code to avoid those situations. Endure that the code is written keeping in mind any security issues such as SQL Injection.
General Responsibilities 20%
Develop reports in SQL Server Reporting Services.
Design, Develop and Deploy SSIS Packages.
Identify and write best possible code in case of new deployments or when rewriting code when migrating to newer
version of SQL Server.
Participate in discussions involving the application creation and understand the requirements and provide the
back-end functionality for the applications.

• Plans and prioritizes tasks effectively; determines and takes appropriate action when faced with challenges.
• Collaborates with team to analyze opinions/ ideas before making a decision
• Makes practical and ethical decisions that support department goals and company's overall mission.
• Uses consideration & tact when voicing disagreement, including listening carefully, discussing possible areas of agreement, & suggesting new options that may satisfy the needs of both parties
Change Agility / Adaptability 5%
• Responds positively and accepts changes to association goals/ decisions/ policies by supporting them through positive actions and communications.
• Creates and implements any necessary procedures to accommodate new association policies to maintain the consistency of the department's workflow without interruption (if applicable).
• Makes oneself available to staff for questions; timely responds to internal inquiries of any kind to support changes.
• Schedule is flexible to accommodate workloads/ meetings/ projects/ deadlines.
• Remains calm & effective in high pressure situations; keeps personal emotions in check. Projects a professional demeanor.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
• Level of Education: B.S in Computer Science or Engineering or Math
• Experience: 5 Plus years
• Core Skill set: TSQL, SSIS, SSRS
• Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite of Products, Windows Operating System, Visual Studio for Data Tools and SQL Server Management Studio
