Solutions Architect

Position Name – Solutions Architect Type of hiring – Fulltime/Subcon Location – Montreal, Quebec, Canada Job Description: Role Overview: Lead the design, deployment and integration of Ignition based OT to IT connectivity solutions across manufacturing sites. Ensure secure, reliable and scalable data flows between shop floor systems and enterprise platforms. Key Responsibilities: • Lead end to end deployment of Ignition for OT IT connectivity across plants • Design data models, tags, MQTT architectures and gateway configurations • Integrate PLCs, SCADA, historians and IoT devices with cloud or on prem systems • Coordinate with OT teams, IT teams, cybersecurity and site engineers • Develop project plans, timelines, technical documentation and deployment guidelines • Ensure system reliability, data accuracy, cybersecurity compliance and standardization • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize system performance • Train site teams and support multi-site rollout acceleration Required Skills • Strong hands on experience with Inductive Automation Ignition • Knowledge of OT protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus TCP, Ethernet IP • Experience with MQTT Sparkplug B architectures • Understanding of IT networking, firewalls, VLANs and security standards • Familiarity with PLC systems, SCADA and industrial control systems • Cross functional coordination skills • Strong problem solving, documentation and communication abilities Experience • 8+ Years in Industrial Automation, OT IT integration or IIoT • Prior experience deploying Ignition in manufacturing environments preferred
