About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Software Tester & Validation Specialist to lead testing and validation of medical imaging software. This role ensures software is safe, reliable, compliant, and release-ready. You will work closely with engineering, quality, and clinical teams to test software across multiple workflows and devices.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and execute software tests, including functional, regression, and end-to-end workflows
• Build and maintain test plans, cases, and reports to ensure accurate verification and validation
• Perform manual testing and assist with automation when practical
• Validate software across supported hardware, operating systems, and configurations
• Track and report defects, support root cause analysis, and verify fixes
• Maintain traceability between requirements, risk controls, and test results
• Ensure testing meets regulatory and quality standards for medical software
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support software releases and continuous improvement
Qualifications
• 1+ year of software testing or QA experience, preferably in regulated or high-reliability environments (medical devices, electronics, or manufacturing preferred)
• Experience creating test plans, test cases, and reports
• Strong understanding of SDLC, defect tracking, and risk-based testing principles
• Comfortable working hands-on with software and hardware systems
• Strong communication skills, able to translate findings into clear action items
Preferred Skills
• Experience with medical device standards (ISO 13485, IEC 62304)
• Knowledge of imaging systems, DICOM, HL7, or PACS integration
• Automation experience using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or UI/API tools
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Test Rail, Zephyr, or Confluence
