Software Test Engineer

Job Title: Senior Software Test Engineer Job Description We are seeking a passionate and experienced Software Test Engineer to join our team. This role is integral in building, maintaining, and scaling automated test frameworks for embedded software on our precision field computer platform. You will develop robust automated test cases based on system requirements, validate embedded-to-network communications. Responsibilities Evaluate test requirements based on specifications, standard procedures, and internal/external requirements.Design, create, and run automated test cases.Develop test plans and procedures.Execute and document tests.Identify and recommend test equipment, production equipment, fixturing, or tooling needed to meet product specifications.Prepare reports of testing data, evaluate findings, and provide recommendations.Lead or contribute input for improvements.Train team members on the utilization of test equipment and procedures.Stay updated with new developments in engineering design, methods, and applications.Assist with the request for quote process as related to testing function needs. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.3+ years of experience in software test automation for embedded systems.Strong proficiency in Python with 3+ years of experience for test case development and framework automation.Experience with Qt/QML/Squish or equivalent GUI automation tools.Familiarity with virtualization/emulation environments.Experience with git and supporting CI/CD tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Solid understanding of network protocols and standards such as ISO11783 (ISOBUS) and J1939.Hands-on experience with Vector tools such as CANoe/CANalyzer or similar CAN tools.Experience with Robot Framework or similar test automation frameworks.Experience with Linux and build system/project frameworks such as Yocto.Strong communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers.Demonstrated ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment and collaborate across global teams.Experience in C++. Work Environment The work environment is hybrid, requiring 2 days onsite, typically on Tuesday and Wednesday. You will collaborate with global teams and have the opportunity to work with advanced technologies in a dynamic setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oak Brook, IL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $114000.00 - $133120.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
