The Hardware Diagnostics and Tools group within Platforms Infrastructure Engineering (PIE) Core Systems and Capacity Assurance designs and develops tools and diagnostics that target specific Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) hardware for health, function, and performance. At Google, we explore leading edge hardware solutions and this team is involved in the early design and setting product requirements. We focus on machine learning acceleration, leading-edge storage solutions, compute servers with NVidia, Intel, AMD and other custom processors, high-speed low-latency networking and interfaces, and more that we can’t talk about.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
• Manage team staffing, career and performance management, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Define the technical roadmap for diagnostics software and tools, ensuring readiness for next-generation Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) accelerator platforms hardware architectures.
• Partner with external vendors and manufacturing partners to ensure hardware coverage excellence, optimise test efficiency and drive data-driven improvements in hardware repair processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in diagnostics operations to solve ambiguous system health, platforms deployment efficiency and platforms data center reliability issues.
• Drive exceptional observability initiatives to ensure organizational Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and priority alignment.
