They support high-volume, mission-critical transaction processing for global clients. They are looking to hire a Developer to play a key role in the design and evolution of their reporting and reconciliation platforms.
This is a hands-on engineering role where data accuracy, performance, and reliability truly matter. You’ll be working on systems that sit close to the financial heartbeat of the business, collaborating with engineers, analysts, and client-facing teams to deliver robust reporting solutions used daily by both internal users and external clients.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable reporting platforms that support settlement, reconciliation, and financial data analysis
• Building and enhancing custom reporting interfaces and front-end tools, ensuring usability for both technical and non-technical users
• Investigating and resolving data integrity, reconciliation mismatches, and reporting discrepancies, including root-cause analysis across systems
• Providing production support for reporting-related issues, with the confidence to triage problems and coordinate with the right teams when issues sit outside your direct ownership
• Working closely with business analysts, engineers, and commercial stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into resilient technical solutions
• Collaborating with data and infrastructure engineers to optimise reporting data stores, improve performance, and monitor long-running or latency-sensitive reports
• Taking ownership of reporting performance and delivery, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and client-ready
• Supporting critical client workflows when required, with flexibility to assist during urgent production incidents
Key Projects You’ll Be Involved In
• Modernising reconciliation reporting used by financial operations teams to identify breaks across high-volume transaction flows
• Developing interactive matrix-style reconciliation dashboards that allow users to drill into mismatches and exceptions
• Optimising legacy reporting pipelines to improve runtime performance and reduce delivery latency to clients
• Enhancing internal reporting tools that support client onboarding, operational oversight, and regulatory reporting
• Improving data processing pipelines that handle large financial files and datasets across multiple systems
Skills & Experience Required
• 5+ years’ professional experience building reporting or data-driven applications within the financial services or fintech space
• Strong background in reporting platforms and in-house tooling, including experience with tools such as Jasper or similar
• Solid Java development experience, particularly for file-based processing and large-scale data handling
• Exposure to Python for scripting or data processing is highly beneficial
• Hands-on experience developing reconciliation logic and user-friendly reconciliation interfaces
• Advanced SQL expertise, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning on large datasets (experience with platforms such as Sybase is advantageous)
• Familiarity with backend or scripting technologies such as Python or Node.js, along with strong UNIX command-line and scripting skills
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex reporting and data issues under pressure, including implementing pragmatic workarounds when required
• Experience with Excel automation, including macros or VBA, is a plus
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
