The company is building a comprehensive automation suite to provide multi-cloud and on-premise data solutions for the enterprise. The data platform team is a collaborative unit developing a full range of data stores and data technologies, from big data and NoSQL to cache-layer capabilities and analytics, as well as structured SQL engines. We are addressing the challenge of creating fault-tolerant, mission-critical distributed systems and aim to deliver the world's best automation solution for data platforms. We have several openings available, from junior to senior levels, and will help identify a suitable position based on your experience and interests. Engineers who thrive at the company understand open-source community dynamics and are aware of the needs of large, innovative organizations. Key Responsibilities: • Automate data platform operations to ensure fault-tolerant replication, TLS, installation, and more. • Provide domain-specific expertise on actual data systems to other teams within the company. • Collaborate proactively with a distributed team. • Write high-quality, idiomatic Python code to create new features. • Debug issues and interact publicly with upstream communities. • Discuss ideas and collaborate on solid solutions. • Work from home with global travel required for 2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events. What We Are Looking For: • Proven hands-on experience in software development using Python. • Proven hands-on experience in distributed systems. • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field. • Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events. Additional Skills That You Might Also Bring: • Experience operating and managing data platform technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, Yugabyte, etc.). • Experience with Linux systems administration and operations. • Familiarity with public or private cloud solutions like OpenStack. • Experience with Kubernetes clusters and its applications for persistent data services.
