TalentoHC is actively partnered with a global manufacturer actively seeking a Software Developer with Distributed Control System (DCS) experience.
The Software Developer will design, implement, and optimize industrial automation systems supporting operations across the U.S. and Canada. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, and cross-functional teams, with a preferred location in the United States. The position blends hands-on automation development with analytical problem-solving and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain DCS/PLC-based automation and process control systems
• Collaborate with process engineering on P&IDs, instrumentation, utilities, and system layouts
• Define project scope, budgets, and technical specifications, support procurement, and vendor evaluations
• Develop and configure control logic, HMI/operator interfaces, alarms, and field I/O
• Lead system testing, startup, commissioning, and support contract programmers when required
• Perform system maintenance, updates, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
• Analyze process data and trends to improve reliability, safety, and operational efficiency
• Maintain documentation, ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, and recommend technology upgrades
• Support field technicians, conduct site visits, and ensure systems meet technical requirements
• Complete additional duties as assigned in accordance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year College or University in Engineering
• 3+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Working knowledge of PLC programming software including but not limited to Allen Bradley, Omron, and Siemens.
• HMIs, SCADA, or DCS programming experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint within a Windows environment.
• Ability to travel required.
