SME Cloud Engineer

SME Cloud Engineer No Corp-to-Corp Onsite- Chicago/60606 3+ Month Contract No 3rd Parties Start Date: ASAP Scope Write code: whether it’s Python, Terraform, Puppet, or something else, writing code to automate and optimize deployment of infrastructure and applications is a core part of this role • Build and maintain BAM’s Kubernetes container platform: this may include setting up a new cluster, offering a training session for a development team, or helping put an app into containers and deploying that app as a demonstration • Be responsible for managing clients public cloud environments • Implement and support applications and systems running on client’s cloud environment • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and offerings within the cloud computing space and act as a champion of cloud adoption across the organization • Provide a platform as a product to others within the organization: we create and maintain a world-class cloud and application platform, which we then operate and offer as a product • Partner with developers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and provide recommendations for cloud solutions and strategies to address those needs • Play a key role in migrating applications from datacenters to the public cloud • Participate in on-call rotation with approximately 1 week per month of on-call time shared equally across members of the team Skills Must Have • * Public cloud: AWS and Azure • Configuration Management: Puppet • Infrastructure Code: Terraform • Application Management: Kubernetes, Docker, Helm • OS: Linux and Windows Skills Nice to Have • * Public cloud architecture and strategy planning experience • Contributions to open source libraries, projects, or communities • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate
