Principal ServiceNow IRM Architect (Global GRC Lead)
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid/Remote)
Total Experience: 12+ Years | Specialized Experience: 6+ Years in IRM/GRC Architecture Core Mission: To lead the strategic design and architectural governance of the ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management (IRM) ecosystem for a global enterprise.
Architectural Leadership & Strategy
• Solution Design: Act as the lead Architect for end-to-end ServiceNow IRM implementations, transforming complex regulatory requirements (GDPR, ISO, NIST, SOX) into scalable technical architectures.
• Platform Synergy: Design the inter-connectivity strategy between the IRM/GRC suite and SecOps, ITSM, and ITOM to create a unified risk-aware CMDB environment.
• Entity Scoping: Lead high-level entity scoping and risk hierarchy modeling to ensure organizational alignment across global business units.
Technical Engineering & Integration
• Advanced Integration: Architect complex integrations between ServiceNow and external systems (e.g., Archer, SAP, specialized UCF feeds) using REST/SOAP, Integration Hub, and custom API development.
• Customization Mastery: Oversee the development of custom Risk Portals, Audit Test Plans, and Vendor Risk workflows utilizing AngularJS, JSON, and AJAX.
• Accelerator Deployment: Lead the deployment of ServiceNow Use Case Accelerators and UCF integrations to fast-track compliance mapping and control testing.
Consultative Governance
• Executive Advisory: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in client-facing workshops, advising C-suite stakeholders on risk appetite, control frameworks, and automation best practices.
• Agile Governance: Drive the IRM roadmap within an Agile/Scrum framework, ensuring technical debt is minimized while maximizing platform out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities.
Required Qualifications
• Certifications: * ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) IRM (Required). CIS Vendor Risk Management or Risk & Compliance (Highly Preferred).
• Technical Stack: Deep proficiency in JavaScript, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Transform Maps, and Workflow Studio.
• Regulatory Depth: Strong grasp of global compliance landscapes including CCPA, GDPR, and PCI-DSS.
