We are looking for an experienced Senior Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) Engineer Specialist to provide expert technical leadership and strategic vision in support of cutting-edge spacecraft programs under the JETSII Contract. This role is perfect for a knowledgeable professional with a robust background in TPS design, analysis, and testing, and a record of contributing significantly to critical aerospace systems. In this pivotal position, you will influence the development of TPS technologies, work alongside multidisciplinary teams, and offer expert insights during critical decision-making phases for NASA initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass materials innovation, high-temperature testing, thermal modeling, and system-level integration. We are actively seeking qualified candidates for this anticipated opening, with a strong belief that the position will be approved soon. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the development and testing of advanced TPS materials and coatings tailored for future crewed and uncrewed missions. • Oversee high-enthalpy testing campaigns (such as arc jet and ICP torch) to validate TPS performance in extreme conditions. • Create and maintain the TPS technology roadmap to align with program objectives and future mission requirements. • Act as a technical point of contact for TPS-related mission operations, facilitating real-time anomaly resolution and risk assessments. • Mentor junior engineers and engage in strategic planning for TPS research and development initiatives. • Work collaboratively with various disciplines to ensure TPS integration meets vehicle-level thermal, structural, and aerodynamic standards.
