Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design, planning, and execution of
end-to-end test strategies for complex Core Banking transformation
programs (including deposits, loans, payments, GL, and customer master).
• Build, mentor, and manage high-performing QA
teams (onshore/offshore) to ensure consistent delivery of quality,
efficiency, and compliance.
• Conduct workload estimation, risk
assessment, and mitigation planning for large-scale testing
engagements.
• Drive test innovation: Research, introduce,
and scale modern testing methodologies (e.g., shift-left,
automation-first, data-driven testing) across banking projects.
• Develop and maintain a Core Banking
knowledge repository, including business process maps, test assets, and
training materials.
• Actively participate in pre-sales
activities: Lead client workshops, respond to RFPs/RFIs, deliver solution
presentations, and support proposal development for Core Banking testing
services.
• Collaborate closely with architects,
business analysts, and delivery leads to influence technical
implementation approaches and ensure testability from design phase.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s
degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related
field (must be from a recognized university).
• 8+ years of experience in the banking
industry, with deep understanding of Core Banking business processes and
system architecture (deposits, lending, payments, GL, CIF).
• Proven track record in at least 3
full-lifecycle Core Banking implementation/replacement
projects (either as a testing consultant or delivery lead).
• Strong ability to define test master plans,
make technical trade-offs, and provide strategic recommendations on
application architecture and testing solutions.
• Experience managing testing teams on
foreign-funded bank projects (e.g., UBS, HSBC, Standard Chartered,
Citibank, DBS, OCBC) is highly preferred.
• Excellent command of English: Fluent in
reading, writing, and spoken communication (must be comfortable
presenting to C-level stakeholders).
• Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and
problem-solving skills; able to thrive under pressure and manage tight
deadlines.
• Willingness to travel within APAC and work
flexible hours to align with global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Mainframe-to-modern-platform
migration (e.g., COBOL → Java/Cloud) and
associated data validation challenges.
• Hands-on knowledge of test automation
frameworks (API/UI/DB layer) and CI/CD integration in banking
environments.
• Familiarity with Singapore MAS
guidelines or global banking regulations (e.g., BCBS 239, SOX).
