Overview As a Senior Test Automation Engineer – Java & API, you will make an impact by designing and implementing scalable test automation solutions across web, middleware, and database technologies. You will be a valued member of our Quality Engineering team, who will build scalable test automation frameworks and have strong expertise in Java, Selenium and RESTful API testing to ensure automated testing is complete with proper coverage for all the requirements for our banking clients. Responsibilities Create robust and scalable test automation frameworks and scripts independently using Java, Selenium, BDD Cucumber. Automating UI and API test scenarios to improve test coverage, accuracy, and execution efficiency. Conduct API testing using REST Assured, Ready API, REST/SOAP services. Develop Rest API automation scripts using Rest Assured framework. Identify, document, and manage software defects to resolution. Integrate automated tests into the deployment pipeline to support continuous testing in an Agile environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software solutions. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress and quality metrics. Required skills Overall 10+ years of hands-on experience in manual, functional and automation testing. Minimum 5 years of hands-on automation experience using Java, Selenium, Junit, TestNG, Maven, BDD Cucumber framework. Strong proficiency in Java programming language (Core concepts). Must have 2+ years of hands-on experience with API Automation using REST Assured, including request/response validation, serialization/deserialization, and API automation frameworks. CI/CD pipeline building experience through GITLAB, Jenkins, or Maven. Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and test lifecycle management. Total compensation: We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 69,750 – 110,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, province.
