Senior Systems and Network Engineer

Overview About The Opportunity A well-established, SaaS-based software company with a growing office in Ottawa is looking to add a Senior Systems and Network Engineer to their R&D group. Reporting to the VP, Infrastructure, this person will collaborate with DevOps Engineers and Software Engineers in the shared pursuit of designing, implementing and maintaining high-availability infrastructure in both cloud and on-prem environments. This is a permanent position and involves a hybrid work model consisting of three days per week in-office (Central Ottawa). Given their team composition and hybrid work model, only candidates local to Ottawa/NCR will be considered. About You The successful candidate will have the following: • Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering Mathematics or equivalent • 6+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with both systems and networking, preferably within a software product company in a Windows environment • Strong networking expertise; TCP/IP, routing and switching, VLAN and VPN, etc. as well as expertise in areas such as firewalls, SAN storage and backup, scripting and automation, etc. • Experience in both on-prem and cloud environments; cloud migration and integration experience is a bonus • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and ability to thrive autonomously as well as within a team • Willingness to work in an on-call, production support rotation (infrequent) About The Job Our client is offering a competitive salary range ($130K-$150K), a generous vacation allotment, RRSP matching, and a comprehensive benefits package.
